What makes rowingnorthYOGA unique?
As a licensed occupational therapist since 1993, a yoga teacher for since 2002, a certified personal trainer, and a Bone Fit™ Trainer, with an insatiable craving for research-based, continuing education, these classes are my passionate blending of years of accumulated knowledge and experience.
rowingnorthYOGA classes are the BEST OF BOTH: STRENGTH TRAINING and YOGA!
* A unique blending of elements from traditional yoga with rehab and fitness science. You’ll experience a slow yoga flow infused with longer body-weight holds plus resistance bands or free weight exercises for strengthening muscles and bones.
* A mindful movement practice that builds mobility, strength, balance, and posture paired with breath, intention, presence, joy, and community!
* These are strong practices for “navigating life’s currents and flourishing as we age.”
* Maximum of 14 students.
* Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays
You are WARMLY WELCOMED!
Classes are appropriate for all who can easily get up and down from the floor.
Classes are STRENGTH-CENTRIC, using body weight, resistance bands, and/ or free weights to increase muscle and bone strength.
Trained in Bone Fit™ via the Osteoporosis Foundation, I design the classes to be beneficial and safe for those with Osteopenia / Osteoporosis.
Variations and modifications are demonstrated, and individualized instruction is provided.
“Receiving RaeLynn’s yoga classes feels like one of the most important things I could do for my body. She knows the body and wants to help you help yours. She wants to be witness to your physical achievements and believes in you, no matter your age, limitations, etc. her philosophy of “rowing north” as we age is exemplified in her commitment to offering not only intelligent exercises and instruction, but in genuinely caring about the longevity and quality of people’s lives.”
